Mr. Nelson is the creator of the MPbase information technology. MPbase grew out of a twenty-year frustration with the limitations of conventional databases. During his career, Mr. Nelson has been a DBA over most all of the commercially available (R)DBMS's on a wide variety of hardware platforms including mainframe and UNIX environments. He has also spent significant time and energy in all areas of computing including applications, administration and systems architecture

Mr. Nelson likes to refer to himself as an "information scientist" and computer "speed freak". In addition, he prides himself on at least a "Scientific American" level of knowledge on everything from the materials technology used in chip design through the psychology of the man machine interface.

This background and knowledge base has created a unique viewpoint of the computing process. This perspective allows complex data problems to be viewed as simple information problems. It is from this educated point of view that MPbase was created and refined over a decade.
